Vintage Embroidered Bunny Feedsack Pillow Covers

2 PILLOWS SOLD!

Waste not want not! This was the motto behind these sacks when they were produced in the 30’s, 40’s & 50’s. Some sacks were designed so that they could be washed & the ink removed, leaving plain colored fabric for housewives to re-use. Others like this one actually had pre-stamped patterns on the back for cross-stich, pot-holders, aprons, or in this case embroidery!

This fantastic feedsack came to me in pieces, the front is a “KING OF THE WEST” flour sack & the back The back has two children’s quilt blocks, both the same – a mother rabbit carries a basket of food home with umbrella over her shoulder. One bunny had been completed, the other was about 3/4 of the way done so I finished it. I’m selling the sister pillow as well, it is slightly different than this one.
