I love the texture of burlap. But I drive myself crazy trying to work with it! All in all a love hate relationship which culminated in this great tote bag. I managed to reinforce the bottom with clear vinyl but the rest is on it’s own. I stitched over quite a bit of the front to try and keep the fraying in check and I really hope I was successful. I LOVE the design on this bag, and with St. Patrick’s Day coming up it seemed like a good time to use this one. I was considering making a wall hanging instead, after much internal debate I just went with a market tote and I think it worked out well. But I’ll be sticking to muslin for awhile methinks….
